How the Orientation works

Learn: Go through the information included in each Module. Many pages will have "Tabs" that have more information under them. Be sure to click on all the Tabs so you don't miss important information!

Helpful Information about the Orientation

You should complete all of the Learning Modules in the Orientation before you access your Canvas course(s).
The Orientation is self-paced and you can return to this course at any time as a resource.
You can minimize Modules (or re-expand them) to make it easier to work through the Orientation. For information on how to do this see the page on Working in Modules
Please contact Distance Learning and Instructional Technology if you have any questions or problems with the orientation.
Here are some other important items to note as you start to use Canvas:
- IMPORTANT!! Unless your course(s) have already started, you will not have access to your course(s) until the first day of class!
- Some of your face-to-face courses may NOT utilize Canvas as a web-component. If you don't see your course listed in Canvas, please check with your Professor(s) to confirm that Canvas is being used for the specific course.
- Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or Apple Safari are the Internet browsers of choice when using Canvas. Please do NOT use Internet Explorer/Edge.
- If you have any technical issues with Canvas contact 24/7 Canvas Help Desk at 1-833-668-8634 first, then notify your professor of the issue and that you have been working with the Help Desk! The 24/7 Canvas Help Desk Chat and phone number can also be found by clicking on the "Help" link on the lower left side of the screen in Canvas. You can also contact Distance Learning and Instructional Technology at distancelearning@untdallas.edu for additional assistance.
Evaluation of the Canvas Student Orientation
